Adani Enterprises was the top gainer in the opening trade as the stock jumped 2.54 per cent to Rs 2,495.85 after the group repaid loans worth $2.65 bn to complete the prepayment programme.
Domestic indices opened flat on Tuesday, tracking weak global cues and fall in US equities. BSE benchmark Sensex opened 28.97 points, or 0.05 per cent lower at 62,758.50, while broader NSE Nifty opened flat, at 18,595.20.

Adani Enterprises was the top gainer in the opening trade as the stock jumped 2.54 per cent to Rs 2,495.85 after the group repaid loans worth $2.65 bn to complete the prepayment programme.
Sectorally, the IT index took the biggest hit in the opening trade, and plunged 1.18 per cent, followed by the healthcare index falling 0.20 per cent. On the other hand, Nifty Metal jumped 0.55 per cent, Nifty Auto gained 0.30 per cent, and Nifty Consumer Durables was up 0.23 per cent at the time of writing.
Broader markets were largely mixed, as Nifty Microcap 250 gained 0.39 per cent, Nifty Smallcap 250 rose 0.24 per cent. However, Nifty Midcap 50 was down 0.16 per cent, and Nifty Midcap Select fell 0.14 per cent.
UltraTech Cement, Adani Enterprises, Maruti Suzuki, Tata Motors, Axis Bank, Asian Paints, Bajaj Finserv, Hero MotoCorp and Eicher Motors were the top gainers in the opening trade.
Meanwhile, IT stocks dragged, as Infosys, Tech Mahindra, Wipro, HCLTech, TCS, Cipla and SBI Life were the top losers.
