Food Entrepreneur DURHAM, NC. — Seal the Seasons, a supplier of “locally grown, locally frozen and locally sold” frozen fruits and vegetables, is partnering with Publix Supermarkets to support Florida growers.

The company’s new Florida Antioxidant Blend, a medley of Florida strawberries, blueberries and blackberries and Michigan dark sweet cherries, is popping up in the freezer aisle at Publix’s more than 1,300 grocery stores, according to Seal the Seasons.

Founded in 2014, Seal the Seasons, a Certified B Corporation, operates in six regions of the United States, distributing dozens of locally and regionally grown frozen fruits and vegetables that are sold in 6,000 retail stores. The brand also offers a line of frozen smoothie kits that are available in more than 1,000 retail stores.

Founders Patrick Mateer and Alex Piasecki launched the business while attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Seal the Seasons is grossing eight figures in annual top-line sales, capturing market share in the frozen produce category, according to the company.

“Our company is excited to further Publix’s local sourcing and make Florida Grown frozen fruit available to everyone in the Sunshine State,” Mr. Mateer said. “Publix is the perfect partner to distribute the best quality frozen fruit at fair prices for Florida’s families.”
