Horror streaming service Screambox has announced its slate of new additions for the month of August.
As ever, it’s a mixture of classics, cult hits, new exclusives, and modern gems. The tentpole for the month is undoubtedly Tobe Hooper’s grimy masterpiece The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, which is joining the service just in time for the upcoming video game from Gun Media.
In terms of fresh new exclusive things, we have Dutch gateway horror Ghastly Brothers streaming from today. Then on August 8, there’s Who Done It: The Clue Documentary. A new documentary about the movie version of the popular board game Clue features the cast and crew of the 1985 cult classic discussing its legacy.
Later in the month (August 22), Australian found footage film Subject joins the service. It sees a prisoner caught up in a sinister government experiment involving an unknown creature. The month’s exclusives are capped off with the four-part docuseries RoboDoc, a look back at Paul Verhoeven’s RoboCop, and features the cast and crew of the film, including Verhoeven himself as well as stars Peter Weller, Nancy Allen, and more.
Among the other highlights of the month are X and Pearl director Ti West’s The Innkeepers, the body horror Starry Eyes, several Hatchet sequels, and ’80s gem Chopping Mall. You can get the lowdown on all the titles added this month below.
