Aug 28 (Reuters) – Azher Abbasi, head of supervision at the San Francisco Federal Reserve, will retire at the end of October, the bank’s spokesperson said on Monday.

Abbasi will be succeeded by Niel Willardson, who will join the San Francisco Fed as interim executive vice president of supervision and credit, the spokesperson said via email.

Willardson, who was formerly a Minneapolis Fed official, will start on Oct. 1.

Abbasi joined the San Francisco Fed in 2015.

Abbasi’s retirement was first reported by Bloomberg.
