Rice: Sebatik islanders warned

TAWAU: Retail licensees on Pulau Sebatik are warned not to take advantage of their power to export subsidised rice to neighboring countries, to the point of causing leakages that can cause a loss to Malaysia. 

Padi and Rice Regulatory Authority (KPB) Tawau Branch Head Mohd Nur Edzudin A Bakar said traders who want to conduct the rice business on a larger scale can apply to do so at their office.

“KPB together with five other enforcement agencies will take immediate action if there is any malpractice.
