The Joe Vicari Restaurant Group this week opened its newest property in a format that’s different from its other restaurants.

Andiamo Bistro opened on April 24 at 57336 Van Dyke Ave. in Washington Township. The restaurant operates on a smaller scale than other Vicari properties, according to company COO Rosalie Vicari. The bistro, in a 3,000-square-foot newly-built space, has seating for 85 guests. The restaurant has a staff of 25 employees and offers menu items similar to other larger Andiamo locations at lower prices, Vicari said.

“We wanted to open a restaurant that caters to busy people and families,” Vicari said. “We are aware of the quick, casual space in restaurants increasing and we wanted to give people that opportunity to eat delicious Andiamo food, made from the best and freshest ingredients, in a fun, casual and quick dining experience.”

The menu features Italian entrees and flatbread pizzas starting at $10. A section of Andiamo classics all priced between $13-$16 includes baked mostaccioli, baked chicken tetrazzini, lasagna bolognese, and chicken and veal scallopini.

The Vicari Group invested more than $500,000 into the project. Vicari did not disclose specific revenue figures, but said the group projects revenues to be lower than its full-scale restaurants, as the goal was to keep prices lowers and more accessible for diners.

Andiamo Bistro operates 11 a.m.-9 p.m. daily.

The Vicari Group owns and operates more than 20 metro Detroit restaurants.
