(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 11 – Italy’s strike watchdog on Saturday
told trade unions CGIL and UIL to reschedule a 24-hour strike
against the 2024 budget bill called for Friday November 17 in
order to minimise disruption to essential services.
The Guarantee Commission in the implementation of the law on
strikes in essential public services asked CGIL and UIL to
exclude from the national strike on 17 November the air
transport sectors and environmental hygiene, but also to
reschedule, according to the time slots in the individual
sectors, that of the fire brigade fire and local public
transport and railways.
The watchdog convened the two federations for talks on
remodulating the strike on Monday, November 13.
The third of the big three federations, CISL, has said it may
take independent action after fully reviewing the budget bill.
