With spring travel ramping up, Purdue Travel wants to remind faculty and staff of discounted parking options when flying in and out of Indianapolis International Airport. Both options are eligible for reimbursement when used for university business travel, and employees can use Purdue’s special pricing with personal travel plans.
FastPark & Relax
The Indianapolis FastPark & Relax location is just minutes away from the Indianapolis International Airport. On-demand, 24/7 shuttle services pick up travelers at their vehicle and drop them off at the airport entrance, with the same door-to-door services provided on return trips.
FastPark will apply the discounted rate, currently $8.18 per day, when the traveler enrolls through Purdue’s rewards link for both business and personal travel. In addition to this rate being cheaper than the economy lot, other benefits include the following:
- Fenced in, covered parking
- Free reservations
- Rewards for free parking
- Complimentary electric vehicle charging stations
- Emergency car services
- Mobile account access
- Cashless exits
5th floor Airport Terminal Garage with ParkIND Proximity Card
University employees can take advantage of a Purdue-specific rate of $14 per day to park on the fifth floor only of the Airport Terminal Parking Garage. This rate is lower than the daily public rate for garage parking.
To be eligible for this rate for business or personal travel, travelers must sign up for a free ParkIND Proximity Card using their Purdue email address. Travelers who already have an account with a personal email address should call ParkIND at 317-487-6300 to update it to their Purdue email address to receive the discounted rate.
Once the membership is activated, travelers can log in to their ParkIND Plus account at any time to update their profile, add or change credit/debit cards, check point balances, print detailed receipts or redeem points for free parking. Additional benefits and amenities include:
- Close parking to the airport terminal
- Quickly and easily enter and exit airport parking lots
- Use any lane to enter or exit airport parking lots
- Earn points and redeem for free parking
The Proximity Card must be presented at the time of parking to be eligible for Purdue’s discounted daily rate. If using the Proximity Card for personal travel, remember to assign a personal debit or credit card as the payment method in the online account. Personal travel expenses cannot be charged to Purdue Travel cards and are not eligible for reimbursement by Purdue.
More ground transportation and parking reimbursement guidelines can be found on the Purdue Travel website. Additional information about business and personal use travel discounts is also available online.
