Reed & Mackay is introducing enhanced CO2 data for air, rail, car rental and hotels within its own booking platform.
The TMC, which is owned by Navan, will include this “next level” emissions data as part of the R&M/Book online booking tool.
The latest development, which was announced at the Business Travel Show Europe in London, follows the start of Reed & Mackay’s partnership with specialist Squake earlier this year, with more “sustainability focused enhancements set to land over the coming months”.
Carbon calculations within the online booking platform now include factors such as the number of passengers, aircraft model and booking class.
Fred Stratford, Reed & Mackay’s global CEO, said companies were “increasingly turning to their travel and events partners to empower their travellers to make informed choices with the latest CO2 intelligence”.
“At the same time, they also want to be able to balance sustainability goals with cost management and traveller productivity,” he added.
The enhanced sustainability data includes the ability to compare the carbon emissions of one flight with other services departing on the same day, with “clear policy markers” in place. Users can also sort results by cost, preference and CO2.
Philipp von Lamezan, CEO and co-founder, of Squake, said its solution has added “a crucial new component” to Reed & Mackay’s R&M/Book system.
“We are so proud to have worked with Reed & Mackay on this development and we look forward to seeing the many ways in which their clients benefit from this powerful new feature,” he added.
