Rachel Eames recognized as REALTOR of the Year at Seacoast Board of REALTORS

PORTSMOUTH – Rachel Eames was awarded the 2023 REALTOR of the Year of the Seacoast Board of REALTORS at a reception held at Flag Hill Distillery & Winery in Lee on June 14. 

Eames is a REALTOR with REMAX Capital Realty & Coastal Living.  The award was presented by Kevin Kneeland, the 2022 REALTOR of the Year recipient.

Paula Frenette, of Embrace Home Loans, Portsmouth, was recognized as 2023 Affiliate of the Year.  In addition to REALTORS, Seacoast Board membership includes organizations affiliated with the real estate profession, such as movers, title companies, mortgage lenders, home inspectors, and others that support the real estate transaction. 

Laura Pouliot, with The Gove Group, Stratham, was presented with the Board’s annual Good Neighbor Award, by Pam Chaffee, the 2022 recipient.  Hampton Falls Free Library will receive $1,000 in honor of Ms. Pouliot’s Award.

Each year, the Seacoast Board of REALTORS awards three $2,500 scholarships to area graduating seniors.  This scholarship is awarded in memory of Realtor Lori Breard-Weeden. This year’s recipients are Portsmouth High School graduate Frank Coviello, who will be attending Tufts University to pursue a major in Mechanical and Environmental Engineering.  Holly Fermon, a graduate of Newmarket High School, who will be attending the University of Vermont, majoring in Molecular Genetics. And Winnacunnet High School graduate Jackson Willis will attend Fairfield University, majoring in Biomedical Engineering.

The afternoon concluded with a live auction and a drawing for 100 bottles of wine, donated by various members of the Seacoast Board of REALTORS.   This year’s winner was Kathy MacQuarrie of The Gove Group.  The Auction and Raffle raised over $7,500 to benefit the Lori Breard-Weeden Scholarship Fund.

Step Up Parents awarded $4,500 grant from the Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund

PORTSMOUTH — The Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund (BCAF) recently presented a $4,500 grant to Step Up Parents in support of its mission to provide support and financial assistance to kinship caregivers who are raising the children of parents who struggle with substance use disorder. The BCAF has made a difference in the lives of so many citizens of NH for nearly 40 years, and continues to do so.

“The Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund is so pleased to be able to help Step Up Parents to continue to offer support to relatives or close family friends who step up to care, nurture, and protect children,” shared Julie Bailey, chair of the allocation committee for the Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund.

Denyse Richter, Founder and Executive Director of Step Up Parents, expressed gratitude for the continued support, stating, “The Bishop’s Charitable Assistance Fund has been a kind supporter of our work for the last three years. We appreciate not only their generosity but that they see the importance and value in serving kinship families who are so truly deserving of our support.” 

Since its founding in 2019, Step Up Parents has helped over 400 kinship families, impacted over 700 children, and given over $225,000 in assistance with the help of generous grants like this one.
