Radisson Hotel Group has opened the first of its Radisson RED properties in Finland.

The Radisson RED Helsinki is located close to the city centre and Helsinki Central Station.

The new eight-storey hotel offers 195-rooms, a restaurant, RED Bar and Kitchen and a terrace facing the adjacent Kaisaniemi Park.

Radisson RED Helsinki is the fourth of the brand to open in Scandinavia, following the first Radisson RED property in Denmark, in Aarhus and two properties in Oslo.

Tom Flanagan Karttunen, area senior VP for Northern and Western Europe at Radisson Hotel Group said: “Our Radisson RED brand has proven very popular in the Nordic region due to its focus on cutting-edge design and art, as well as its relaxed setting for business and leisure travellers.”

Last week we reported Minor Hotels has announced plans for its first property in Finland – the five-star NH Collection Helsinki Grand Hansa – as part of its expansion plans in the region.
