Radisson Hotel Group has opened a new hotel in central Milan as part of its Radisson Collection luxury brand.

The property, known as Radisson Collection Hotel, Santa Sofia Milan, is located close to the Piazza del Duomo in the Italian city and was formerly the headquarters of Allianz Italia from the 1960s onwards.

The building has been redeveloped over the past four years to create a hotel with 159 rooms and suites. It becomes Radisson Collection’s fifth property in Italy and second hotel in Milan.

The hotel’s attractions include Sofia Kitchen & Bar in the former courtyard of the building, a seventh floor terrace with views across the city, and the ISSEI Rooftop fine dining restaurant offering a fusion of Japanese and Peruvian cuisines. There is also a terrace on the fourth floor with outdoor pool and lounge bar, which will be open during the warmer months.

Chema Basterrechea, global president and chief operating officer at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “As Radisson Hotel Group, we’re looking to give guests more options in Italy across different hotel brands, with 30 hotels by 2027 as an ambitious – but very much achievable  target.”

Radisson Collection also has properties in Venice, Rome and the ski resort of Cortina d’Ampezzo, as well as the existing Palazzo Touring Club Milan hotel.
