Radisson Hotel Group is rapidly expanding its presence in Eastern and Southeastern Europe with plans to open more than 10 properties by 2025, including the debut of its art’otel brand in the Balkans next month.

Following recent expansion in Poland, in 2024 the group plans to open a Radisson-branded serviced apartment property as well as a Radisson RED in Kraków. Following this, Radisson Resort & Suites Ustronie Morskie is scheduled to open on the Baltic coast in 2025.

The group’s upscale Radisson brand will debut in the Serbian city of Niš this December when the 72-room Radisson Hotel Park Nis opens its doors. Meanwhile, the 88-room Radisson RED Belgrade will open “later this year” with a co-working space, “flexible” event area and a rooftop bar.

In Croatia, the group also plans to open art’otel Zagreb in October, marking the brand’s debut in the Balkans. The 110-room upper-upscale lifestyle hotel will offer a pan-Asian restaurant, rooftop terrace, spa and pool. Following this, a 126-room Radisson Collection Resort is scheduled to open in Lukoran in 2026.

A Radisson Blu resort and a Radisson Individuals are also planned for Albania “in the coming years” as well as further expansion in Hungary, Romania and Georgia following the recent opening of Radisson RED Tbilisi in the Georgian capital.

In Greece, the group recently added island resort properties in Mykonos and Skiathos, as well as city hotels, in addition to signing four new resorts with nearly 1,200 rooms across the Peloponnese Region.

In Athens, the group recently opened its first Radisson Individuals hotel and is working on the launch of two additional properties: the 112-room Radisson RED Mitropoleos Square Athens with a three-level rooftop bar and restaurant with direct views of the Acropolis, and Radisson Hotel Theatrou Square Athens with 172 rooms, both scheduled to open in 2025.

Meanwhile, in Cyprus, 1,200 residential and services apartments will open in phases from 2026 as part of Radisson Residences Limassol. In addition to two hotels currently in operation, the group plans to open a further two hotels in Larnaca under the Radisson Collection brand.

“We have seen exceptional growth potential in Eastern and Southeast European where we are present with eight brands ranging from midscale to luxury,” said Elie Younes, executive vice president and global chief development officer at Radisson Hotel Group.

“Our portfolio in the region has grown to 85 hotels in operation and under development with 16,600 rooms – an increase in room count of 25 per cent over the past two years alone, which speaks to the great potential in this highly dynamic and attractive region spanning city hotels as well as resorts,” he added.
