Quiksilver and Roxy, renowned board sports brands, have launched an online rental service in France.
The Boardriders Rental website enables users to rent high-quality performance apparel, catering to men, women, and children.
This initiative allows individuals to access gear approved by top athletes like Jérémy Florès, Stephanie Gilmore, and Travis Rice, without cluttering their closets.
François Latterrade, head of Quiksilver Europe, stated that renting aligns with the community’s desire for quality products while supporting environmental sustainability. The service promotes circularity, reducing manufacturing volumes and environmental impact.
“Renting is a response to the changing habits of our community, which wants to access high-quality performance products at certain times of the year. With this business model, we are supporting surfing, skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, and democratising access to sport equipment,” said Latterrade.
“It is also is a way of preserving the environment. Renting chimes with the willingness to move towards greater circularity, producing less and consuming better. France is pioneering and piloting our rental service. We are extremely proud,” he added.
