Prospectuses containing vital information about the upcoming Rochdale Business Improvement District (BID) ballot have been successfully delivered to businesses in Rochdale town centre.
Businesses will be encouraged to vote ‘yes’ for the BID to continue for a further five years. The publication has been put together as a result of feedback from businesses in the area to provide support and profile Rochdale as a great place to work, invest and grow.
The plan, which has a budget of £1.4 million over the next five years, has a vision of creating ‘a safe, vibrant and attractive town centre that has a sense of identity, which is family orientated and welcoming to all’.
The proposal will build on the achievements of the first term and will be spread across four key areas: promotion, safety and access, attractiveness and the business, leisure and cultural offer.
In addition to the prospectuses, essential information about the ballot and voting process has been mailed out by Rochdale Borough Council, and was sent to the address which is entitled to receive the ballot paper.
With prospectuses and ballot information now in circulation, the final phase is rapidly approaching. In early October, ballot papers will be mailed out to eligible voters, enabling them to cast their votes and play an active role in shaping the future of Rochdale town centre.
