French department store Printemps Group has partnered with the Parisian fashion academy, IFM, to provide vital support to budding talents. For the 2023-24 academic year, Printemps and IFM will grant new scholarships, specifically based on financial need and merit.

The scholarships will cover tuition fees for twelve students enrolled in IFM’s cutting-edge professional training course in fashion. This program, which focuses on fashion design, machinist-fitting, and model-making, enables students to hone their skills in textile work and tailoring. The unique work-study approach allows students to acquire specialized knowledge relevant to the haute couture and luxury ready-to-wear sectors.

Xavier Romatet, IFM’s CEO, stated, “We are committed to opening our educational courses to all young fashion talents, regardless of their financial situation.”

Jean-Baptiste Dacquin, Chief Human Resources Officer at the Printemps Group, underscored the importance of investing in emerging talent. He said, “By investing in emerging talent, we are helping to shape the fashion landscape of tomorrow.”

In addition to the scholarships, Printemps and IFM will extend one-off grants to support innovative entrepreneurs in the creative industries for the upcoming academic year.

The five chosen brands—Mama Série Originale, Ako, Askiita, Noué, and The Wedding Explorer—will receive full financial backing for their academic journey as part of the IFM incubator. This program, based at IFM’s Quai d’Austerlitz campus in Paris, normally costs € 5,400 per year.
