Today, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau met with the Chair of Wallenberg Investments AB, Marcus Wallenberg, and a delegation of Swedish business leaders representing companies from the investment, manufacturing, automotive, telecommunication, and other sectors, including FAM AB, Atlas Copco, Epiroc, Saab AB, Ericsson, Stora Enso, H2 Green Steel, GreenIron, and Navistar.
Prime Minister Trudeau and Mr. Wallenberg underlined the strong relationship between Canada and Sweden and the depth of people-to-people and economic ties across sectors. They discussed ways to continue creating new opportunities for workers and businesses in both Canada and Sweden, while advancing sustainable economic growth and climate action.
The Prime Minister emphasized the importance of democratic partners working together to create middle-class jobs, invest in one another’s businesses, and build reliable supply chains. They discussed the benefits of, and opportunities for, investments to create quality, middle-class jobs and lasting economic growth on both sides of the Atlantic.
Prime Minister Trudeau promoted Canada’s competitive advantages to attract future investments from Swedish companies – including world-class workers, clean power, and critical minerals, and looked forward to future opportunities for Canada and Sweden to continue working closely together.
