The Poole Business Improvement District has gained accreditation from British BIDs.

Of the three hundred BIDs across the UK, it is one of only 30 to have received the honour, which is the industry’s recognised standard, externally assessed by independent auditors and designed in line with the Business Plan Criteria and the National Guiding Principles for a BID.

It follows an assessment of a BID’s governance, management and operations, financials, performance management, and communication and reporting.

Along with recognising an endorsement from British BIDs the accreditation provides reassurance to levy payers that the BID has effective governance in place and is accountable, transparent, and trustworthy, therefore giving confidence to businesses that their levy is in safe hands.

Jacqui Rock, Poole BID Lead commented: “Winning accreditation is a significant achievement for any organisation or project.

“We are delighted that we have been recognised with this award which is an appreciation of the company’s commitment to enhancing the local business environment and supporting economic growth in the area.”

Rob Brown, Poole BID Vice Chair added: “Accreditation can bring several benefits, including increased credibility, access to additional resources and support, and recognition for the positive impact the BID is making on Poole’s business community.

“It also often signifies a higher level of professionalism and accountability, which can help attract more businesses and stakeholders to participate in the BID’s initiatives and so it is a privilege to receive this honour.”
