(ANSA) – ROME, NOV 6 – Italy’s Hcob Purchasing Managers Index
(PMI) continued its downwards trend, falling from 49.9 points in
September to 47.7 points last month, it emerged on Monday.
This marked the third consecutive month of contraction in the
manufacturing and service sectors.
The data also showed an acceleration in the decline, with total
activity falling at the fastest rate in 12 months.
Companies surveyed linked the decline in activity to a reduction
in new orders amid uncertainty stemming from new and ongoing
geopolitical tensions.
Meanwhile, in October the Eurozone Hcob PMI Composite Output
Index stood below the critical threshold of 50 points separating
expansion from contraction for the fifth consecutive month,
falling to 46.5 points from 47.2 points in September.
