Plymouth Community Homes promises to sort out mouldy flats

Plymouth Community Homes has promised to sort out damp and mouldy homes in the city – plus help slash energy bills for its customers – in a brand new business plan launched this week.

The city’s leading social housing association has launched a new Strategic Business Plan, setting out its ambitions for the future and how it plans to maintain and improve the services it provides for residents and the wider community.



Part of the plan involves helping to reduce energy bills for its residents by refurbishing and decarbonising properties across Plymouth.

And the housing firm has also promised to ‘respond more quickly’ to reports of damp and mould to tackle ‘ongoing issues’.

Plymouth Community Homes has more than 16,000 properties providing homes for more than 35,000 people across the city. As well as managing homes for affordable and social rent in Plymouth and the surrounding area, PCH also develops and sells homes for shared ownership and open market sale through its sales brand SO Living, and is a commercial landlord for 170 shops and commercial buildings, including Plumer House in Crownhill.

This week, PCH launched its new Strategic Business Plan for 2023 – 2028 where it sets out its plans for the coming years. The plan is the result of more than a year’s work by the board, executive and senior management teams to create a new ‘Mission and Vision’ for PCH, and four themes with clear priorities which set out how the organisation will achieve its ambitions to become more efficient, more sustainable and remain financially strong.
