Private jet membership company OpenSky has become the first Japanese operator to take delivery of a Pilatus PC-12 NGX. The turboprop single, tailored with an Asian-style design, will operate throughout Japan.

Pilatus noted that even though there was no advanced publicity of the aircraft’s ferry flight from Switzerland to Osaka, numerous airplane spotters outside the Japanese airport had reported on the arrival of the Swiss-made PC-12.

“Our PC-12 NGX has gone viral since arriving in Japan. I’ve already flown several legs in the cabin of PC-12 NGX in Japan, and I’m very pleased,” said OpenSky CEO Shigeto Honda. “The propeller low-speed mode delivers a significant reduction in cabin noise for great passenger comfort.”

The PC-12 was the second Pilatus aircraft in the OpenSky fleet, joining a PC-24 jet that arrived earlier this year. OpenSky additionally has ordered a second PC-24 that is slated for delivery in the third quarter of 2024.
