CASPER, Wyo. — Since 2013, Casper Cigar Company has served the people of Natrona County with a place to smoke, drink and socialize. On Saturday, the local business is commemorating its first decade with a day-long celebration.
Food trucks and alcoholic beverages are outside the 1831 CY Avenue business, and festivities last until 7 p.m.
The cigar lounge first opened in Mills in 2013, later moving to its current location in Casper in 2016. Since then, owner Donovan Short said, the business has only continued to grow.
“We’re really the only boutique cigar lounge like this in the area,” he said. “We’ve got a lot of brands that are sort of off the beaten path… brands you can’t find in run-of-the-mill places.”
Short said Casper Cigar Company hosts several events throughout the year. Short said the next bit event scheduled is a pipe showcase on Sept. 16.
But the biggest draw of the club, he added, is the camaraderie members enjoy with one another.
“We get people from all walks of life,” Short said. “We have minimum wage workers and millionaires who come together and form friendships. We’re all equals and there’s not a lot of politics that go on here.”
The club currently has a waitlist for prospective members, but Short said people are always welcome to add their name to the list.
