A pack of Merit cigarettes now cost EGP 59 up from EGP 52.

The retail price for Marlboro cigarettes increased from EGP 48 to EGP54 while L&M cigarettes will now sell at EGP 39 up from EGP 35.

In September, Philip Morris Misr raised its cigarettes prices in light of increased production costs and the decreasing value of the Egyptian pound against the dollar.

Philip Morris Misr is the second cigarette manufaturer to raise its prices in 2023 amid ongoing economic difficulties.

In late March, the state-owned Eastern Company for Tobacco also increased the price of its cigarette packs by two to three pounds.

The Cleopatra Box (10 cigarettess) now sells at EGP 15; a pack of the Cleopatra King Size EGP 23; and both the Viceroy and the Pall Mall brands now cost EGP 33.

Moreover, the prices of Cleopatra Soft Queen, Boston/Belmont, Cleopatra Box (white, black, and colored), Cleopatra Mondial Switch, and Matossian increased to EGP 24.
