KUALA LUMPUR: Pertama Digital Bhd has appointed Datuk Ahmad Nazri Abdullah as its non-executive chairman effective June 19.
Ahmad Nazri, 69, succeeds Tun Zaki Azmi, who has been redesignated from non-executive chairman to director.
“He has profound knowledges in technology and public sectors. This can be seen through his past involvements and achievements which includes him being on the board of NSTP and TV3, as well as the chairman of Malaysian Resources Corp Bhd,” Pertama Digital said in a filing with Bursa Malaysia.
Ahmad Nazri holds 7.2% stake in Pertama Digital. He was recently appointed as director of the International Institute of Advanced Islamic studies.
“I thank the board of Pertama Digital for giving me the opportunity and trust necessary for this new role. I truly believe in the core efforts of the company and that Malaysia is ever-ready for a digital transformation of both its Government and private sector through an effective collaborative effort for the benefit of the Rakyat”.
“My focus will be to elevate the Company to a higher playing field and chart new grounds for our Shareholders and our bottom line,” Ahmad Nazri said.
Meanwhile, Tun Zaki said: “Ahmad Nazri is a very capable individual and brings with him a wealth of knowledge and experience. His tenure as the new chairman will surely be beneficial for the company as the time is ripe to begin putting to action all the plans that we have for growth and profitability.”
