Pegasus Airlines is to launch a new route between Dortmund and Istanbul from later this month.

The Turkish carrier will operate between the German city and its hub at Istanbul Sabiha Gokcen airport from 19 December. The route will be served three times per week on Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday.

Ludger van Bebber, CEO of Dortmund airport, called the introduction of the new Istanbul route a “significant achievement”, as the airport looks to continuing growing in 2024 after setting a new record for passenger numbers this year.

“We are delighted to welcome Pegasus as our new partner, sharing our commitment to sustainable growth,” said van Bebber. “Together we aim to offer passengers affordable flights to a broad range of destinations.”

Pegasus offers flights to more than 130 destinations in 50 countries across Asia, Africa and Europe from its Sabiha Gokcen hub.
