Swedish renewables developer OX2 AB (STO:OX2) announced today that it has completed the construction of a 86-MW wind farm in southern Sweden and has handed over the project to its owner, Orrön Energy (STO:ORRON).
Based in the municipality of Uppvidinge, the Karskruv site has 20 of Vesta’s V150-4.2 MW turbines in 4.3 MW operating mode. The plant is expected to produce 290 GWh of electricity annually, which equals about 15% of the current power demand in the Kronoberg county.
Orrön is the result of the restructuring of Lundin Energy AB which rebranded the business after shedding its oil and gas operations to focus on renewables.
OX2, which was building 1,335 MW of renewable power capacity at the end of the third quarter, sold the Karskruv project to Lundin in April 2021. The company remained in charge of its construction and will now oversee its technical and commercial operations.
