Opportunity for Local Service Providers offering Business Matchmaking Solutions

The Netherlands Missions in South Africa are looking for a suitable service provider to provide tailor made matchmaking solutions for their upcoming trade mission. The trade mission, which is focussed on the fields of HealthTech and Cybersecurity, will take place physically in Johannesburg and Cape Town from 4 to 8 April. The matchmaking sessions will pair visiting Dutch businesses with South African companies who share common business interests to realize mutually beneficial business opportunities.

The Dutch Embassy and Consulate General in South Africa together with the Netherlands Ministry of Foreign Affairs and RVO (Netherlands Enterprise Agency) are organizing a physical trade mission from the Netherlands to South Africa from 4 to 8 April 2022.

The trade mission will focus on business opportunities in two sectors:  

  • HealthTech, including
    • Health technology and equipment
    • Big data and health information management
    • AI and robotics for smart diagnosis and treatment support
  • Cybersecurity, including
    • Technology adoption
    • Data integrity, encryption
    • Smart cities

The mission consists of a generic track for the participants of both sectors as well as a dedicated track per sector.

MATCHMAKING SESSIONS

Matchmaking will take place in physical form. Trade mission participants are offered tailor-made matchmaking

Approximately 12-15 Dutch companies (about 7 per sector) will be joining the mission and are eligible for tailor-made matchmaking with South African counterparts which are to be identified by the appointed service provider. Each Dutch company will complete a detailed intake form, which will be supplied to the contracted service providers as received no later than 10th of March 2022.

Tailor-made matchmaking is defined as a method to identify and connect (match) companies with common business interests, complementary services, expertise, technologies or business strengths. The goal is to create cooperative connections and realize business opportunities that mutually benefit both parties.

REQUESTS FOR PROPOSALS

Suitable service providers are requested to submit proposals to deliver the tailor-made matchmaking as described above and below.

  1. Deliverables:
    • Clear understanding of the Dutch participants’ business needs.
    • 5-10 meetings per company, including practical arrangements and logistics. All appointments should be confirmed by 25 March 2022. From enrollment, participants will have the opportunity to make suggestions for appointments through the service provider. The SA contractor is expected to coordinate with the Dutch contactor PSPS. PSPS is responsible for the organizing the Dutch side of the mission, including acquisition, intakes of NL participants, travel logistics, registration of meetings, etc.
    • Post event report which reflects on the matches set up during the trade mission per Dutch company including the results achieved and follow up.
  2. Suitable services providers will meet the following criteria
    • Relevant network in the specified sectors.
    • Previous relevant matchmaking experience.
    • (Local) capacity.
  3. The following information should be included in the proposal (max 2 pages)
    • Approach and price for matchmaking. The maximum available budget is R20.000 (including VAT) per Dutch company participating in the mission.
    • Motivation that criteria as described above are met.
    • The specific sector(s) in which matchmaking is offered.

N.B. The service provider should be aware that the mission may be postponed because of covid-related travel restrictions. The go/no-go moment is in the week of 28 February 2022.
