Onochie emerges overall best female candidate in NECO

Chief Executive Officer and Registrar, National Examinations Council (NECO), Prof. Ibrahim Wushishi, yesterday, invited Igbinedion Education Centre (IEC), Edo State, for an Award of Excellence in the 2022 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).

A student of the privately-owned educational institution, Miss Chimamanda Frances Onochie, was tipped for the award, having emerged the overall best female candidate in the 2022 BECE. She scored straight As in all 11 subjects.

Coordinator of NECO in Edo, Moses Oladipupo, while briefing newsmen in Benin City ahead of the formal presentation of the award, said the council would formally honour the student and the school on December 9 in Minna, Niger State.

According to the NECO boss, Miss Onochie scored ‘A’ in English, Mathematics, French Language, Business Studies, Christian Religious Studies, Igbo L2, Cultural and Creative Arts, Basic Science and Technology, Pre-Vocational Studies, History and National Values Education.

Igbinedion urged the students to emulate the awardee and continue to make the school, their parents and staff proud by recording laudable feats during their academic sojourn at the institution.
