Affinity Plus fights hunger

Affinity Plus Federal Credit Union raised $50,096 for regional food banks across Minnesota during its third annual Coins for a Cause fundraising drive that took place at its branch locations last week.

This included a $25,048 matching donation from Affinity Plus.

Funds from Coins for a Cause will go directly to six Minnesota food banks, including Second Harvest Heartland, which reported a 30% increase in demand this holiday season.

This year’s coin drive took place Dec. 5-9 at 22 participating Affinity Plus branches throughout the state. On Dec. 9, Affinity Plus hosted collection events outside of its branch locations, providing refreshments and rewarding the first 25 donors at each location with a $10 Caribou Coffee gift card.

Affinity Plus has raised more than $185,000 through its Coins for a Cause initiative since 2020, providing 555,000 meals for families in need.

ASB selected by large company for nationwide distribution

American Solutions for Business of Glenwood has been selected by a professional testing, inspection, engineering, environmental and consulting services company as a primary vendor for corporate apparel and hard goods branded merchandise.

The company has more than 100 locations nationwide, delivering solutions to both public and private sector clients in the transportation, commercial, water, government, education and industrial markets.

ASB raises over $25,000 for local families

American Solutions for Business raised over $25,000 for families in the Pope County area through their annual Adopt-A-Family fundraiser.

Raising over double the amount they achieved last year, ASB was able to sponsor 16 families, including 36 kids, and a special gift for an individual in the area spending the holidays alone. This tradition began two decades ago as a special gift for ASB’s Founder Larry Zavadil, and his wife Diane, as a collective effort from team members and sales associates at American Solutions for Business.

“I look forward to seeing the numbers every year,” expressed Zavadil. “I’ve always known our American family was generous just by the good they do throughout the year, but I am astonished once again!”
