RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK – Plenty of technology and life science events and program deadlines are coming up across North Carolina in September. Several events will be held in person or in a hybrid format, while many others remain virtual.
Building on WRAL TechWire’s ongoing work tracking essential events and deadlines across North Carolina, here’s a look at what’s to come in September 2023:
Coffee & Conversation with Charlotte Business Group
Sept. 1, 8-9:30 a.m. @Suffolk Punch Brewing
The Charlotte Business Group will host members and guests for connections over coffee. Note: Space is limited, so registration is required.
Application Deadline: Downtown Raleigh Alliance Storefront Upfit Grant
Sept. 1
This grant program from the Downtown Raleigh Alliance helps cover upfit expenses for new storefront businesses across the retail, restaurant and services sectors. Applications are open for the next round of funding.
Application Deadline: Big Launch Challenge Pitch Competition
Sept. 1
The Launch Place’s 11th annual Big Launch Challenge will return to Durham this October. Applications are open for the pitch program, in which 10 early-stage startups will compete for $15,000.
AfroFuturism Fest 2023
Aug. 31–Sept. 2 @Charlotte Art League
City Startup Labs and BlkTech Interactive are hosting Charlotte’s third annual AfroFuturism Fest, a program celebrating Black creativity and technological innovation. The theme of this year’s program is “Ancient to the Future.”
Downtown Techies Raleigh Happy Hour
Sept. 5, 5-7 p.m. @Lynnwood Brewing Concern
The Downtown Techies Happy Hour event series is back at Raleigh’s Lynnwood Brewing Concern. Join to network with peers.
