LONDON, ONT. — Ted Sehl, chief financial officer and director at Odd Burger Corp., is resigning from his post due to an unexpected and severe medical event that is requiring surgery, according to the company. In turn, he will no longer be able to perform his duties, the company said. Sehl has been CFO since June 2021 and also has been a member of the company’s board of directors.

James McInnes, chief executive officer and co-founder of Odd Burger, will step in as interim CFO.

“Ted has made a significant contribution to our company, and we will miss him tremendously,” McInnes said. “Ted created an amazing team and I am confident in their ability to continue operating our financial division without interruption.”

Most recently, Sehl was principal at MGMT2GO and previously principal at Sehl Consulting. He was also director at Hammond Manufacturing Co., Ltd. and held many leadership positions with multiple companies.

McInnes founded Odd Burger, a chain of vegan quick-service restaurants and formerly known as Globally Local, in March 2014 as a grassroots vegan organization that brought organic fruit and vegetables from local farmers to customers’ doorsteps.

With his partner Vasiliki in 2015, the couple first developed vegan meal kits. In 2016, Odd Burger brought their “Famous Burger” to London, Ontario Ribfest. The pair then launched a food truck in 2016. In 2017, the company opened its first vegan quick-service restaurant. The company opened its own manufacturing center in 2018, according to the company.
