KUALA LUMPUR: PwC Malaysia has appointed Nurul A’in Abdul Latif as executive chair from July 1, 2023, following the retirement of Datuk Mohammad Faiz Azmi.

In a statement, the assurance, tax and advisory services firm said Nurul joins managing partner Soo Hoo Khoon Yean at the held of the firm.

Prior to her appointment, Nurul was the deputy executive chair as part of a leadership transition to the executive chair position.

She was also markets leader for PwC Malaysia from 2016 to 2022.

Nurul has 28 years of experience working with some of the largest public-listed companies in Malaysia on audit and business advisory matters, as well as cross-border clients with a two-year stint in the UK.

Nurul, who is trilingual, also currently serves as a Council Member of the Malaysian Institute of Certified Public Accountants (MICPA) and the Malaysian Institute of Accountants (MIA).

“I am confident that she’ll bring her own brand of leadership to the role and the accounting profession as a whole, as the firm’s first female executive chair.

“Nurul has extensive working experience across a wide range of clients, from the public sector to public interest entities as well as non-governmental organisations (NGOs).

“Her championing of the firm’s key initiatives around sustainability, digitalisation, and upskilling will allow her to chart the way forward for the firm’s future growth,” said outgoing executive chair Mohammad Faiz.
