Northern Ireland hero Isaac Price said he has “matured a lot” following his decision to leave Everton and join Belgian outfit Standard Liege in the summer.
Price played a key role in Monday evening’s 2-0 win over Denmark at Windsor Park scoring the opening goal in the final Euro 2024 qualifier.
In a campaign where highlights have been hard to come by it felt like a defining moment, both for Northern Ireland and Price, who is clearly benefiting from his move.

“It is massive. I am playing for a really good team in Belgium and I’m playing against some top players as well,” said the 20-year-old.
“There’s some players from the Denmark team who are playing in Belgium too, and they are very good.
“Playing in a men’s League as well – I’ve gone from last year, for the majority in Under-21s football and it’s a different level when you come and play in the first team.
“I’ve matured a lot and have just got to keep getting better now.”
While Price is loving life in Belgium he is also thriving under international boss Michael O’Neill since making his his international debut back in March.
The attacker is one of a number of young stars O’Neill has blooded during the qualifiers, and while it has been something of a baptism of fire, Price feels they will benefit long term.
“I feel like there’s a lot of trust from the manager,” he said.
“He’s put a lot of youth in the team and sometimes it has not worked out for him because he has not had the results he wants, but he’s a top, top manager and it’s something for us to build on. We have a really good group going into the next qualifiers.
“I knew, coming in, that it would be difficult as there’s a lot of good players. I just wanted to settle myself in and put in some good performances and hopefully put my name on the team sheet when it comes to game days. Hopefully I can do that going forward as well.
“I feel like we’ve had consecutive games where we know we’ll get thrown back in and get to play again. Now we’ve got a little bit of a break, probably at the wrong time when we’re on a high. But we’ll be coming back and we’ll have friendlies in March, and we’ll be looking to kick on from there.”
