Nissan Motor plans to invest up to three billion pounds ($2.39 billion) in electric vehicles, battery production and infrastructure in the U.K., it said Friday.

The Japanese automaker said it plans to expand its EV hub in Sunderland, which will now comprise three gigafactories.
