The National Institute of Credit Administration (NICA) Chartered is to celebrate the statutory power, which the NICA Act No 26 of 2022 conferred on it for control, supervision and regulation of credit management in Nigeria, award of professional qualifications and certifications to qualified persons, in addition to enhancing, promoting and protecting interests of business credit providers/grantors across the national economy.

The event, billed for October 25 in Lagos, would congregate prominent individuals within and outside the institute to engage in meaningful interactions and share ideas about the body’s mandate and how the nation could speedily transit from a cash-based economy to a vibrant credit system.

The occasion also marks the first time members would be uniting to review and deliver on aims and objectives of the association’s founding fathers.

NICA is adjudged third largest statutory credit management professional body in the world after the United States of America and United Kingdom.

In a statement, the Registrar/Chief Executive Officer, Prof. Chris Onalo, said the institute is fast becoming a global leader and the only professional body in the world, in terms of curriculum spread and learning longevity at the highest level.

This, according to him, means NICA’s curriculum is all encompassing.

The ceremony is to be graced by former President Olusegun Obasanjo, who has been the institute’s national patron since 2019, and chief executives of corporate organisations both in the public and private sectors of the economy.

Others are representatives of the judiciary, sub-national authorities, the press and fellows of the institute.
