The operator of Aer Lingus Regional services is commencing a new route for a limited period to accommodate those travelling to France for the Rugby World Cup.
Emerald Airlines says the route between Dublin and Rennes will operate over a six week period starting on Friday, September 22nd until the end of October.
There are 15 train services a day serving Paris – where the games are taking place – with an average journey time from Rennes to Montparnasse station of 1 hour and 45 minutes.
“We are delighted to be providing fans with further access to a number of the exciting World Cup games hosted in Paris,” Ian Lough, Head of Commercial at Emerald Airlines said
Emerald will operate a return flight on Mondays and Fridays for each of the six weeks.
The airline sass the new route will complement its service between Dublin and Brest, Brittany, which started operating in May of this year.
“For those not interested in rugby, Brittany is a great option for an Autumn getaway with many unique festivals including the Quai des Bulles Festival which takes place the last weekend in October,” the airline said in a statement accompanying the announcement.
