JB’s German Restaurant and Bakery is up for sale by owners Jüergen and Brigitte Kazenmayer.
The local business will remain open for business.
On Tuesday, the couple released a statement on the restaurant’s Facebook page explaining the reason for the closure is due to the “overwhelming burden of managing both our health issues.”
Jüergen Kazenmayer suffered from a stroke in late March 2023.
“We have made the heart-wrenching decision to sell JB’s German Restaurant and Bakery,” the post said. “As entrepreneurs who have poured our passion, time, and dedication into building our lifelong dream, letting go is an emotional experience. The sale of the restaurant and bakery becomes a bittersweet necessity; and a painful farewell to something that has been a labor of love for the past 12 years.”
The Kazenmayers are actively seeking someone interested in purchasing the restaurant as soon as possible so they can return to Germany to address their health issues.
“I would like to say thank you to our customers, for everything they’ve done,” Brigitte Kazenmayer said in a phone call. “I will try to find someone to take over and continue JB’s like we did.”
Those who are interested in owning the local restaurant may contact the owners at 361-949-5474.
