Many foreigners eagerly await the latest news on the Canada Express Entry draw. The good news is that Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) has sent Canada Express Entry invitations to a select set of skilled immigrants who desire to reside in Canada permanently. The recent invitations to apply for permanent residence under the Express Entry system were held on December 18, 2023.
In total, 1325 number of invitations were issued on December 18 under the all-program Express Entry. Invitations are issued to eligible foreign nationals who rank among the first 1,325 eligible foreign nationals in the group ranking. The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of the lowest-ranked candidate invited was set at 542. If more than one candidate has the lowest score, the cut-off is based on the date and time they submitted their Express Entry profiles. Compared to the previous all-program Express Entry draw on December 6, the CRS cutoff score has dropped by 19 points – from 561 to 542.
The Canada Express Entry program is for skilled immigrants who desire to reside in Canada permanently.
Immigration, Refugees, and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) monitor the processing of applications for economic immigration under the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Canadian Experience Class, Federal Skilled Trades Program and Provincial Nominee Program.
Candidates for Express Entry must submit a completed electronic application for permanent residence (e-APR) within 60 calendar days of receiving an invitation to apply (ITA). Applicants for Express Entry will no longer be needed to undertake upfront medical checks as of October 1, 2023.
Express Entry is Canada’s leading application management system for those who want to come permanently to the country through the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Canadian Experience Class, the Federal Skilled Trades Program, and a portion of the Provincial Nominee Program. The Express Entry system in Canada simplifies and expedites the immigration procedure for persons with expertise in important disciplines.
