Netflix Games has five games slated for the summer and released a sizzle reel showing all of them. They range from sci-fi adventures to casual experiences to titles that have been released elsewhere.
Here’s the Netflix Games summer lineup
The first and perhaps the biggest game is Oxenfree II: Lost Signals, which is coming out on July 12. This is a sequel to Night School Studio’s hit sci-fi narrative-focused adventure Oxenfree. It was announced in April 2021 for Nintendo Switch and PC but has been revealed to be coming to other platforms since, like PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Android, and iOS. Netflix also purchased the studio in September 2021. The first game came to Netflix in September 2022 nearly six years after its initial release.
The Queen’s Gambit Chess comes out on July 25 only for Netflix subscribers and takes place in the world of the related Netflix series. Players take chess lessons and compete in a “stunning love letter to the award-winning drama.” Familiar characters like Mr. Shaibel and Borgov make an appearance and players get to see locations like Beth’s house, the Methuen orphanage, and more.
Cut the Rope Daily is making its way to Netflix on August 1. It’s a take on the well-regarded mobile game that not only has physics-based gameplay, but also a daily supply of puzzles.
Multiple companies have tried their hand at streaming games directly to players and now streaming giant Netflix is seemingly going…
Lego Legacy: Heroes Unboxed does not have a firm release date, but is another upcoming game that will available for Netflix subscribers. This strategy title that originally released in 2020 lets players create a team from around 50 different, battle-ready Lego characters with all sorts of abilities.
Paper Trail also doesn’t have a release date, but it will be offered to Netflix subscribers, as well as players on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC, and Xbox Series X|S, sometime this summer. This unique puzzle game takes place in a paper world and has players folding around the environment in order to solve puzzles, which evolve over the course of the game.
These are just a handful of the 60 or so games available for Netflix subscribers. These titles include Transformers: Forged to Fight, Oxenfree, Tomb Raider Reloaded, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, and Stranger Things: Puzzle Tales, just to name a few.
