A man has been charged with the murder of a 22-year-old who was stabbed in south London.

Keelen Morris Wong was killed in front of shoppers on Coldharbour Lane in Brixton just before 17:00 BST on Tuesday.

Police and paramedics attended but Mr Wong was pronounced dead at the scene.

Kyiza Sandiford, 23, appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on Saturday, where he also faced a charge of possessing an offensive weapon.

He was remanded into custody until his next appearance at the Old Bailey on Tuesday.

A 15-year-old boy was arrested on 5 October on suspicion of murder and possession of an offensive weapon.

He has been bailed, pending further inquiries, to a date in early January.

Another 15-year-old boy was arrested on 6 October on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.

‘Awful attack’

Det Insp Kevin Martin said work to establish a motive for the stabbing is continuing.

He added: “This awful attack took place in broad daylight, in front of people simply going about their business.

“I don’t underestimate the impact such a horrific incident will have had on anyone who saw it.

“We have heard from a number of people but I am asking anyone who witnessed it to speak to us, in confidence, about what they saw.

“I am also fully aware that there are a number of videos circulating following the incident, including of the crime scene.

“I know that these videos are causing enormous distress for the loved ones of the victim, and I would ask people to respect them by not circulating this upsetting footage.”
