Persistent Leader

A senior leader from Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar’s group was trying to connect with Chief Minister Eknath Shinde for eight days, unsuccessfully. The leader’s personal assistant grew tired of hearing that the CM was busy or not available. Finally, a strong message from the leader’s office to an IAS officer got things moving. The leader, incidentally, had easy access to former CM Uddhav Thackeray.

Appeasing Tactics

Despite differences, NCP leaders are exercising caution not to target each other or antagonise its founder Sharad Pawar. Senior NCP leader Praful Patel, who is with the Ajit Pawar camp, has asked his supporters to participate in the Swabhiman rally announced by Sharad Pawar across the state — one in Bhandara of Vidarbha, Patel’s home town. The date of the rally is not decided but Patel’s followers are already raring to go.

CM Honours DyCM

After completing his-five day Japan tour, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis was welcomed back by the Mumbai BJP team with bouquets and garlands. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde went out of the way to honour his colleague by presenting a shawl and a bouquet. Shinde also explained how the Japan tour helped in advancing major infrastructure projects.
