A Mortimer businesswoman has been commended by a Dragon.

Sarah Jones, founder of My Anxious Dog in Mortimer, tweeted her business idea during ‘Small Business Sunday’.

She was then one of six weekly winners retweeted by Dragon’s Den star, Theo Paphitis, exposing her up-and-coming business to his huge social media following.

Her not-for-profit service, running since 2012, provides yellow space awareness products for anxious and reactive dogs to wear in public.

“It is great to have support from Theo to help raise the brand profile for our #dogsinyellow,” she said. “Theo has recognised my hard work and helped spread the word about our campaign to his following.”

Mr Paphitis added: “We are thrilled to welcome new #SBS members every week and highlight just how important it is to support our small businesses here in the UK.

“My vision is that everyone who has ever won an #SBS retweet from me will become part of a friendly club; like-minded individuals who can share successes and learnings.”

The weekly initiative, set up by Mr Paphitis in 2010, now has over 3,000 #SBS winners and supports small businesses in the UK.
