Fire in Murrysville impacts 3 businesses

A fire broke out in a business building early Tuesday in Murrysville.

The fire was reported at about 2:30 a.m.on the 4000 block of William Penn Highway. The structure houses the Murrysville Chiropractic Center, Black Armor Tattoo and Nourish Mentor, according to Tribune-Review news partner WTAE.

The building’s owner, Dr. Chuck Tragesser, said his son was driving by the building, saw the fire and alerted him.

“My son was visiting some family and was driving home,” Tragesser said. “He said, ‘Dad, it’s not good, your building’s on fire.’ I got out of bed and he drove me here.”

The fire chief said someone driving by first saw the fire and alerted officials.

There were no injuries reported.

Arrest made in robbery of 2 Pitt students

Police from Pittsburgh and the University of Pittsburgh have made an arrest in the Sept. 28 robbery of two female Pitt students in Oakland, officials announced Tuesday.

Eric Ingram, 53, of Pittsburgh was awaiting arraignment Tuesday morning on two counts each of robbery, unlawful restraint and false imprisonment, court records show. His attorney was not listed.

Ingram “intimated he had a gun” and forced the two girls to walk, while holding on to him, to an ATM on Fifth Avenue to withdraw money, Pittsburgh police spokeswoman Cara Cruz said.

Ingram was arrested early Tuesday, Cruz said. He was taken to the Allegheny County Jail.

Police seek suspects in Sharpsburg Circle K robbery

Allegheny County police are looking for two suspects who they say robbed a Sharpsburg convenience store over the weekend.

Sharpsburg police sought the county’s assistance at about 2 a.m. Saturday with an armed robbery at the Circle K in the 500 block of North Main Street, county police said.

 

At 1:35 am, a man entered the store, displayed a weapon and demanded money from the clerk and one customer inside the store, county police said. The suspect was wearing a mask and what appeared to be a wig at the time of the robbery.

Investigators said the suspect fled the scene with a woman and traveled south on Route 28 toward Pittsburgh. Detectives are working to determine the make and model of the vehicle in which they traveled.
