More fringe benefits for families with kids – Giorgetti – English

(ANSA) – ROME, APR 27 – The government will give households
with children more fringe benefits in a decree it will examine
on May 1, Economy Minister Giancarlo Giorgetti said Thursday.

“The government will set with an upcoming urgent measure the
budget margins available to finance, for the current year, a new
cut in social contributions for payroll workers with
medium-to-low incomes and a rise in the fringe benefit limit for
payroll workers with children,” he said at question time in the
Lower House.

The government has pledged to help families with kids as part of
a campaign to raise Italy’s very low birth rate.

Giorgetti added that the Italian and European banking systems
had been “considerably reinforced” after the 2008 financial
crisis and recent US and Swiss bank crises in no way reflected
the Italian banking system’s state of health. (ANSA).
