(ANSA) – ROME, MAY 31 – Modifying the EU-funded post-COVID
National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP) to take into
account changed circumstances is a delicate job that must be
done with the utmost care, Premier Giorgia Meloni said
Wednesday.
In the introduction to Italy’s third NRRP implementation report,
she said the government had worked in concert with the EU since
its inception in October on a “phase of fundamental
reconnaissance that could prepare the subsequent phase: the
intensification of talks, as set down by the EU, to formalize
the proposals for modifications to the plan by the deadline of
August 31 2923, with the contemporaneous inclusion of the
REPowerEU chapter.
“This is an extremely delicate job which the government is
carrying forward with the utmost attention and with great
responsibility.”
Meloni added that the government had a “clear objective on the
NRRP” and the necessary resources would be deployed in time.
