Bank behavioral scientist to address ACG

Jeff Kreisler, the head of behavioral science for J.P. Morgan Private Bank, will be the guest speaker at the Association of Corporate Growth’s November luncheon.

The luncheon will be at 11:30 a.m. Nov. 7 at Windsor Court, 300 Gravier St., in New Orleans.

Kreisler leads financial decision-making thought leadership and innovations efforts for J.P. Morgan. He was the founding editor-in-chief of PeopleScience.com, which applies behavioral science principles to modern business practices and a writer for Comedy Central and Nickelodeon.

Metairie Bank starts work on Covington branch

Metairie Bank has broken ground on a branch at 70496 La. 21 in Covington.

This will be the bank’s second full-service location on the northshore and ninth branch in metro New Orleans.

The branch is set to open in third quarter 2024.

Metairie Bank is the oldest and largest commercial bank headquartered in Jefferson Parish and has total assets of nearly $1 billion.

Northshore pitch competition set for Friday

Four businesses have been selected for the NSpire Startup Slam, a “Shark Tank”-style business pitch competition that will be held at 6 p.m. Friday at the Columbia Theatre for the Performing Arts, 220 E. Thomas St., in Hammond.

Competitors for the prize package, which includes $25,000 in cash funding along with in-kind services, mentorship opportunities and access to an investor network, are:
