Mentor Public Library will be hosting a free online talk with US Poet Laureate Joy Harjo at 4 p.m. Nov. 16.

Harjo will discuss her newest memoir, “Catching the Light,” which examines how poetry can encourage justice and healing.

Harjo is an award-winning poet, musician, playwright and member of the Muscogee (Creek) Nation. Her poetry collections include “She Had Some Horses,” “An American Sunrise” and “Conflict Resolution for Holy Beings.”

In 2019, she was named the US Poet Laureate, the first Native American to be appointed to the position.

Sign up to attend this discussion at libraryc.org/mentorpl. A recording of the program will be available to watch afterward.
