Here’s a look at promotions, hirings, movers and newsmakers in the Memphis area business scene:

Lara Reynolds has joined Commercial Bank and Trust as director of Marketing where she will guide the company’s marketing strategy. She has more than 20 years of marketing experience in the banking and wealth management industries. Previously, she was with FirstBank and was responsible for marketing activities in the West Tennessee market. Reynolds earned an International MBA from the University of Memphis.

Lehman-Roberts and its sister company Memphis Stone & Gravel appointed Drew Koester to chief financial officer and Eric Allen to director of Environmental, Health and Safety.

  • As CFO, Koester will provide financial leadership to achieve the company’s growth objectives and financial goals. Possessing three decades of tenure in the public accounting and auditing realm, his most recent position was CFO of The Prevention Group.
  • As Environmental, Health and Safety director, Allen will champion the continuous improvement of the companies’ safety culture. He will play a key role in developing several initiatives and programs to drive safety excellence. He is currently a Certified Safety Professional and Certified Hazardous Materials Manager, two of the leading certifications in the safety field.

The Collision Repair Education Foundation’s 21st Annual Golf Fundraiser, co-hosted by PPG Automotive Finishes, was held July 19 at the Hillcrest Country Club in Indianapolis and sold out to capacity with 144 golfers. More than $100,000 was raised to support collision repair programs, schools and students around the country.

Dr. Shana Stoddard, associate professor of chemistry at Rhodes College, has been selected to receive the 2024 Ruth Kirschstein Diversity in Science Award from the American Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB). The award honors an outstanding scientist who has demonstrated a sustained commitment to the encouragement of scientists from historically marginalized groups. Stoddard will receive the award at the ASBMB annual meeting in March.

Saint Francis Hospital-Memphis appointed Michael Roper and Suzan Hartling Wood as Nursing Administrative directors, responsible for helping manage daily nursing operations to facilitate a smooth, high-quality patient experience. Meanwhile, Saint Francis Healthcare named Karun Gadiparthi as Market Chief Strategy Officer and Kenneth Townsend Jr. as Market Assistant Chief Financial Officer.

  • Roper will remain director for ICU/Cardiovascular ICU, Inpatient Cardiovascular Services and the Medical Response team, while taking on the responsibilities for the Emergency Department, Patient Flow and Medical/Surgical/Telemetry Services. He previously was the director of Critical Care and Cardiovascular Inpatient Services.
  • Wood will oversee clinical informatics, behavioral health, education, oncology and the nursing float pool — a group of flexible nurses prepared to be assigned to the department where they are most needed each day. She has also accepted the role of Director for Women’s Services. With more than 20 years of nursing administrative experience, Wood joined Saint Francis Healthcare in February 2017.
  • Gadiparthi will guide strategic development for Saint Francis-Memphis and Saint Francis-Bartlett. He previously was Director of Forecasting and Financial Analysis for Baptist Memorial Healthcare Corp. since 2019
  • Townsend will work with the Market Chief Financial Officer. Townsend most recently was Director of Finance at Decatur Morgan Hospital in Decatur, Alabama.

Rhodes College is featured in the 2024 edition of the college guide “The Best 389 Colleges,” published by The Princeton Review. Rhodes ranked in the top 25 in three categories — campus beauty, Greek life and students studying the most. The selected colleges were based on data collected from surveys from college administrators and from students who report on their experiences at their institutions. Rhodes also is among the “Best Value Colleges” for 2023, according to The Princeton Review.
