Medplus to empower female entrepreneurs with $30,000 grant

Medplus Nigeria said it would support female entrepreneurs with a $30,000 grant to boost their businesses.

The Founder and Chief Executive Officer, Medplus, Joke Bakare, made this known in Lagos, while reeling out plans for its 30 years anniversary celebration with the theme, ‘Built To Last’.

Bakare said aside from providing healthcare services to the community, it is extending its commitment to women-owned businesses through its ‘Built to Last Fund’ to support female entrepreneurs financially.

She said the grant is more than just financial support, noting that in a nation where female entrepreneurs face unique challenges, the firm is extending a hand to giving them the tools and resources they need to thrive.

“Moreover, Medplus is also giving the grant recipients access to distribution via its network of over 100 outlets nationwide. Market access is one of the challenges most small and medium enterprises (SMEs) face and this synergy between a well-established business and budding entrepreneurs will empower female owned brands to scale. It is a testament to Medplus’ commitment to fostering a supportive ecosystem for businesses, especially those led by women,” she said.

She commended the company’s commitment to giving back to the community and empowering the next generation of entrepreneurs, noting that its vision is to build a legacy that is set to last, while looking forward to witnessing its continued growth and impact in the years to come.

Also speaking, the Head of Sales and Operations, Medplus, Ntiaidem Ime, said part of the activities lined up to celebrate the milestone anniversary include embarking on a series of community projects, tagged, “Delivering Wellness.’

He said the firm will commence community outreaches to over 30 locations nationwide, noting that the initiative reflects the company’s deep- rooted belief that the wellbeing of a community is inextricably linked to the success of its businesses.

He noted that other activities for the anniversary include, a conference and exhibition slated for November 9, 2023 in Lagos, which will feature a lineup of speakers, with world-renowned author and entrepreneur, Seth Godin and prominent figures in the business world, including Ibukun Awosika, Kofo Akinkugbe, and Iyin Aboyeji.
