BOSTON – Nadia Mattivi, who served as captain for the Boston University women’s ice hockey team last season as a senior, will stay on for a fifth year as a graduate student for the 2023-24 season.
Mattivi has played in 107 career contests for the Terriers, totaling 46 points on 14 goals and 10 assists. As a senior she tied for fourth on the team in points with 17, securing career highs in both goals (6) and assists (11). Half of her six goals came on the power play.
“I am grateful and excited that Nadia wanted to be a Terrier for her fifth season in college hockey,” said head coach Tara Watchorn. “Nadia’s professionalism, passion and drive makes everyone around her better. It will be great to have her leadership for another year and I can’t wait to see the season she puts together.”
Last month, Mattivi graduated from the Questrom School of Business with a bachelor’s degree in business administration & management with a sub-concentration in finance. She has already started a master’s degree in financial management from Metropolitan College.
Mattivi has competed on Italy’s national team since 2016. In each of the past two IIHF World Championships (Division 1, Group B), Mattivi has been named the best defender of the tournament while leading Italy to a pair of third-place finishes.
